DEFENSE! – HEALTH! – “PORK!!”

Get ready America, Are You Ready for FEETBALL? We  been kicked around by our Senators. In a vote held at 2:00 A.M. the U.S.Senate jumped over the first hurdle to passing a “Health Care Bill.” The vote was 60-40, Dems 60, Repubs 40. How?  Sen. Ben Nelson, D.-Nebraska, cast the deciding vote, Why? He received Millions $$$$ benefits for Nebraska! Permanent Federal Aid in expanded Medicaid, a benefit worth over $100 Million over 10 years!!! Other states got the aid for 3 years, but Nebraska’s is INDEFINITE!  Sen. Mary Landrieu, D. La., won between $100 – $300 Million in additional federal aid for her state’s Medicaid population. The “deal” was made PRIOR to her critical vote in favor of the bill.  Fla, N.Y., Pa. where 5 of 6 Senators are Democrats received senior’s Medicare Advantage benefits protected even though that program sees massive cuts elsewhere. AND THAT AIN’T ALL!!  Defense Bill EARMARKS TOTAL  $4 BILLION. Lawmakers set aside over $4 BILLION in earmarks in the just approved 2010 defense appropriations bill. The $626 BILLION bill passed the Senate Saturday, Pres. Obama signed it Monday. Here’s a few examples:- 18.9 Mllion for the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the Senate, sponsored by Sen. Kerry (D. Mass.) $23 Million for the Hawaii Healthcare Network, sponsored by Daniel Inouye, (D. Hawaii) and $20 Million for the National War II Museum in New Orleans by Sen. Landrieu. $300 Million to improve Maryland and Virginia’s over stressed transportation system. Sponsored by Moran, (D. Va.,) and Van Hollen (D. Md.) ALL of this passed on the backs of our SERVICEMEN.  Not one dime of that BILLIONS will benefit them! Please, stop and think!  If the “Health Care Bill” was really about LIFE and DEATH. it shouldn’t/wouldn’t take “EARMARKS” to pass it! 

Several years ago, my good friend, U.S. Senator Herman Talmadge, (D. Ga.) told me “IF you ever saw how sausages are made, you wouldn’t eat one. That, is how legislation is made in the Senate, it will upset you.”  Obama campaigned against EARMARKS, that too, was propaganda. ”The fox is in the hen-house, Hens LOSE!”  This is my opinion, I’m interested in YOURS!

ANNIVERSARIES!!!

Good Morning World!  How are You? I hope you’re doing fine. Things here in “Paradise,” are about the same, weather is colder than usual, sun is shining, and the part-time residents are returning to spend some quality time relaxing over Christmas and New Years Day.  I recently celebrated an Anniversary, want to share some thoughts with you.  An Anniversary is a time to celebrate the joys of today, the memories of yesterday, and the hopes of tomorrow….I am grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming, beautiful gardens who make our souls blossom! 

Take time to reflect.  Please give me the benefit of your thoughts and ideas.  Together we will make this old world a better place to live….and as an old Gullah lady used to say to me many years ago…”I be lookin afta you.”    ( Just click on Comment, and I hope you like my new template.)

“What the heck have YOU done?”

Many American voters who were attracted to “hope and change” promises made by Barack Hussein Obama are now asking themselves WHAT THE HECK  HAVE  I  DONE?”  In 2008 – 43% of Evangelical Christians voted for him, and he promptly rewarded them by signing an EXECUTIVE ORDER  authorizing the expenditure of $$$MILLIONS for international abortions via Mexico City. (As we all know, an  Executive Order evades and avoids legislation!)  How many of you were aware of this action? Really?? The printing presses at The Treasury continue to print $$$$ like it’s going out of style!  The greatest in history!  The past 6 months we have seen the bloodiest months since we got involved in Afghanistan. We waited while Obama procrastinated with his ‘follow through” on his decision in March, 2009.  Yes, we waited, and waited, and waited.  Yes, during that time he flew with his entourage to promote Olympic Games in Chicago, which was greeted with a resounding “NO!”  Millions $$$ squandered on a ploy that most sports nuts knew wouldn’t happen.    Now our “Commander in Grief,” seeks to grab any remaining $$$ with the broadest expansion of government control in our history through “Health Care Reform,” he persists even though 80% say they are satisfied with their current health care provider.  A farmer friend of mine told me recently, “The fox is in the hen-house, hens lose!”  This morning I read that he is pursuing a “Climate Deal,” in Copenhagen..involving the expenditure of $100 BILLION by 2020…W O W !!!   As a side note, Obama has played more GOLF in 2009 in the midst of “…the worse recession since the Great Depression…” than President Bush played in EIGHT YEARS!  I wonder when CBS, CNN, NBC will get around to reporting this?  Please don’t hold your breath. That is my opinion, I earnestly solicit yours!  Agree or disagree, have at it, you’ll be glad you did!!!  Thank you!

Health Care Bill Isn’t!!!

The status and support for The Senate health care bill seems to change by the hour. Poll numbers continue to slip for support of the bill to an all time low. It is likely something will get done, as Leader Harry Reid threatens to work through Christmas, but questions remain, who, what, when and where?  Some liberal Democrats are beginning to shift, and the former head of the Dems., Howard Dean, the leader now of the “progressive movement,” urged them “to start over with the process of reconciliation.”  IF liberals like Dean and Obama’s replacement, Sen. Burris, are poised to bail out on a bill without a “public option,” how can hapless Harry Reid herd these cats?  The “public option” appears to be dead.  On “60 Minutes,” this past Sunday, Obama said “he will get it done.” Like it’s his legacy. Republican response was: “The supporters of this bill seem to think it’s about them, about their legacies.  This isn’t about them, about their legacies, this is about the American people. This is not about making history. Americans send a message, they don’t want Higher Premiums; Higher Taxes; Higher Health Costs.”  The gift the liberal left wingers wants to give the American people  for Christmas is the one most Americans DON’T WANT!  Please, don’t give up, don’t give in, resist this evil monstrosity!!  The Health Care Bill ISN’T!!!   That’s my opinion, What do YOU think?

IRAN A-BOMB CAPABLE!

We are greeted this morning with news from IRAN, that it has successfully fired an upgraded version of longest range missile, “impossible” to shoot down!! Israel, and certain U.S. bases are now within range.  U.S. reaction is that it”will probe” the report…House votes more sanctions on IRAN…Israel agrees IRAN is on brink of ATOMIC BOMB capability with its new solid fuel rocketry. IRAN has received the same delays as did SADDAM HUSSEIN…the world fiddled while he prepared his weaponry, except IRAN has shown its ability…not just talked about it. Has sanctions accomplished anything? NO, nothing whatsoever, IRAN continues to live, love and prosper, watch TV news casts, life goes on smoothly.  I’m sure several more resolutions will be unveiled in the farcical UN. It appears to this correspondent that we are about to witness a catastrophic series of events, it is the height of  stupidity to dismiss that which is occurring in the world today as happenstance, we are entering THE  FINAL  STAGES  OF HISTORY!    The long arm of terror has indeed reached every part of the world!  Ahmadinejad is on the verge of declaring he is in position to destroy the world…? View of Life is Limited.

As we draw close to the end of 2009, my mind drifts back to the early years. I conclude that our view of life is limited.  We go from day-to-day, week to week, looking at one piece to the puzzle at a time. There is another perspective. While we are trying to make sense out of one odd piece after another, we can take comfort knowing that all of the pieces fit into a plan that could only be created by a higher power.  Only when we near the finish and begin to view a wider perspective does the whole composition have clarity. “We are not permitted to choose the frame of our destiny, But what we put into it is ours.” -Dag Hammarskjold.  I believe that people are drawn to the light.  When you know your strengths and place yourself in positions where you shine brightest, you will be amazed at who notices and how many words of encouragement you receive.  What do you think?

MARINES train Afghan Illiterates!!

So, you think you’ve got it bad?  Think again.  U.S. MARINES are engaged in training illiterate Afghan farmers to be Police. In one main province Afghan leaders sent 13 men to live and train with Marines; most of whom were/are illiterate young farmers with no formal training, who, a few weeks earlier  had been plucked off  the streets.  The “new” police were of  little help, joking around and sucking on  lollipops meant for the kids. This is one of the keys to new Afghan strategy,  recruit more men to meet goal of expanding the police force from approximately 94,000 today to 160,000 in 2013.  The provincial government fired the last group of police after more than half of them failed a drug test, prompting them to rebel by throwing rocks at the Marines. When the “police” weren’t smoking drugs, Afghans complained they were stealing goods from the bazaar.  Marines spend their days trying to teach basic patrolling, sweeping the ground for buried bombs, searching people and vehicles. I pray that GOD Will Continue To Bless The U. S. Marines!!!   What is your opinion?
